Howdy. Thanks for stopping by.
My name’s David, and I live in Montana. The name of this blog, Skinning with bear spray, refers to the hip holster of bear-repeling pepper spray that lives on my backpack from April to November. Often, I’ll find myself ski touring in the late spring or early winter over day old bear tracks. And the seasonal crossover of gear like bear spray and climbing skins makes this blog what it is: a chronicle of time spent outside, year round, skiing and climbing.
Where was Hammer when I needed then 30 years ago in New Zealand, Tibet and Antarctica? Oh but they sure made life better when I found them.
